Web Mapping
The IMD GIS group supports a number of web mapping projects using various technologies, including ArcGIS Server, Silverlight, OpenLayers, REST, Flex, and Javascript.
Inventory map services use NRMapWorks which is a flexible utility for creating web map services from IRMA reference records. The Alaska Region Inventory Program uses NRMapWorks-created services in their Inventory Map Viewer.
The NPScape Landscape Dynamics Project map viewer uses a Silverlight viewer allowing users to display and print NPScape metric layers.
The IRMA Portal uses a javascript-based map viewer to display bounding boxes for references and to allow spatial searches.
Map service projects are under development for Natural Sounds' aircraft overflight reporting, Water Resources Hydrographic Impairment database and Vegetation Mapping Program park maps.
