Format/Style

17.358 Scientifc Databases

In the sciences especially, it is has
[SIC] become customary to cite databases as follows: list, at a minimum, in this order, the name of the database, the URL, a descriptive phrase or record locator (such as a data marker or accession number) indicating the part of the database being cited or explaning the nautre of the reference, and finally an access date. In bibliographies or reference lists, list under the name of the database.

Citing the NPSpecies Desktop Version


The Desktop Version should be cited similarly to the Online Version, except that the version number of the desktop application is identified and there is no URL.
