NPSpecies Data Services

The Inventory and Monitoring Program provides several services to assist parks in populating, conducting quality assurance, and administering data in the NPSpecies database. The following service is open to anyone who is an NPS individual or designated cooperator. Please use the submission form below when requesting this type of NPSpecies related service from the Servicewide I&M Program. The easiest way to complete these submission forms is:

• Open the submission form in this browser by clicking on its link.
• Complete the submission form in the browser window.
• Save the submission form to your hard drive by selecting File - Save As in your browser menu.
• Email the saved submission form and any associated data files as directed on the submission form.

Converting Legacy Data to NPSpecies Format

This service is open to any NPS individual or designated cooperator. The Servicewide I&M Program will convert digital data files from species lists, vouchers, observations, or species documented in references, to the NPSpecies desktop format. Digital files can be in any format, e.g. ASCII, Excel, MS-Acess, FoxPro, etc.

Getting data into the online version of NPSpecies may be a 2 step process: 1) convert the data to NPSpecies format (in the desktop version) and 2) upload the converted data file to the online version. Complete the NPSpeciesConvertingDataToNPSpeciesFormat.doc submission form(s) to have data converted.
