The NPS Vegetation Inventory Program recently completed PLOTS 3.0 (released September 2009).  PLOTs 3.0 is a relational database designed to store vegetation inventory field data for taxonomy and accuracy assessment (e.g., geo-referenced plot location, species abundance and cover data per plot, plot classification, and accuracy assessment point data).

PLOTs 3.0 is a Microsoft Access database. You must have Microsoft Access 2003 or later installed on your computer in order to use it. PLOTs 3.0 has undergone substantial reviews by NPS staff, NatureServe, and VegBranch. This updated and enhanced version of PLOTs is now required for use in the collection of taxonomic data necessary for vegetation inventories.
