Vital Signs Monitoring Meeting - Denver, Colorado

The Second Annual "Meeting of the Vital Signs Monitoring Networks" was held during the week of August 13-16, 2002 in Denver, Colorado at the Westin Hotel at Tabor Center. Approximately 135 resource managers, data managers, and others involved in planning and designing monitoring of natural resources attended the meeting.

Meeting Objectives:
- Review the latest guidance and strategies for designing and implementing natural resource monitoring throughout the NPS;
- Present the status, methods, and preliminary results of planning and design efforts by vital signs monitoring networks, and discuss the scientific and logistical merits and difficulties of the approaches being used;
- Promote integration among natural resource program areas; and
- Facilitate collaboration and communication among scientists and managers involved in designing network monitoring programs.
