Inventory & Monitoring

Communication, Reporting and Outreach

The primary audience for the results of vital signs monitoring is park management. This information provides superindendents, resource chiefs, biologists, and other managers with the tools they need to make and defend management decisions and to work with others for the benefit of park resources. However, other key audiences for monitoring results include: park planners; interpreters; researchers and other scientific collaboraters; the general public; and Congress and OMB.

To be most effective, monitoring data must be analyzed, interpreted, an dprovided at regular intervals to these key audiences in formats they can use and apply.

Listed below are examples networks have used for reporting to different audiences.
