Sierra Nevada Network
Reports and Publications
The Inventory and Monitoring Program was created as a coordinated national effort to better
understand the complex relationships of the animals, plants, and
geography within parks and to "improve park management through
greater reliance on scientific knowledge." The scientific knowledge
gained from this effort will allow park managers to better protect
these vital places and leave them "unimpaired for the enjoyment
of future generations."
A primary purpose of this effort is to develop, organize, and make
this information available to the public. Below are a number of publications
that provide more detailed information on this unprecedented scientific
undertaking.
