Heartland I&M Network and Prairie Cluster Inventory and Monitoring Program

Maps

Photo of major aquifers map

The following maps were created to meet two needs of the Heartland Network during the first two phases of the monitoring plan development. First, some of the maps were developed to show the geographic similarities and differences between all 15 HTLN parks. Providing a geographic context ensures that parks are grouped appropriately during the development of monitoring strategies and protocols. Overall, these maps reveal that there are many ways to view the parks. In addition, some of the maps specify the location of monitoring stations. Knowing monitoring station locations will help ensure that the monitoring plan under development will benefit from and eventually augment other local, regional and national monitoring programs.
