California Islands Symposia Documents

The California islands symposia are a series of irregular meetings convened to present recent findings in science and management on California’s islands, including those off the west coast of Baja California, Mexico. The symposia have been held every five years or so since 1965, and record recent island work in all disciplines of natural and cultural science. They are sponsored by a fluid consortium of the agencies, non-profits, conservancies and academics involved in that work and in management of the islands. Results presented at each symposium have been published in written proceedings, all of which are now available digitally.

1st Symposium on the Biology of the California Islands (1965)
2nd California Islands Multidisciplinary Symposium (1978, published 1980)
3rd California Islands Symposium (1987, published 1993)
4th California Islands Symposium (1994)
5th California Islands Symposium (1999)
6th California Islands Symposium (2003)
