Summary

Inventories to ascertain amphibian and reptile species that occur in 7 parks and reptile species in 1 park in the National Capital Region were conducted from spring 2002 through fall 2004. Occurrences of amphibians and reptiles were studied in the seven parks listed above; however, only reptile inventories were conducted at the Chesapeake and Ohio National Historic Park (CHOH) since Don Forester (2000) and Ed Thompson (2000) had previously conducted inventories for amphibians. Prior to this study, few herpetological inventories had been conducted in most parks.
