Base Cartography Data
The Base Cartography Inventory is tasked with acquiring, processing, and distributing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data layers that are needed for mapping and analysis projects. This includes digital elevation models, digital line graphs for park boundaries, hypsography, hydrography, and transportation networks.
Products
The NPS Natural Resource GIS Team maintains the Base Cartography Inventory. There are two online tools available that will allow you to download base cartography data:
- Many of the base cartography datasets may be searched and downloaded from the IRMA Portal.
- Additional information and datasets may be found at the Natural Resource GIS Geospatial Data website.
Status
Information about the status of the base cartography project and available GIS products can be found on the Pacific Island Network NPS I&M Base Cartography Information GIS & Maps Page.
