Climate Inventory

Climate is widely recognized as a major driver for terrestrial and marine ecosystems, affecting biotic as well as abiotic ecosystem attributes (see figure below). It is important for park managers and researchers to have access to baseline data and weather station information.

No additional climate inventory products or revisions are planned, beyond completing the above items. Additional data and previous versions of climate inventory products may be found at the NPS Data Store. Current plans emphasize preparing and implementing a long-term monitoring protocol for climate in the PACN.

The climate atlas was prepared in cooperation with the Oregon State University PRISM Group. Weather station location, metadata, and the inventory report are produced and maintained with the cooperation of the Western Regional Climate Center, Desert Research Institute.
