Natural Resource Bibliograpy
NatureBib is the National Park Service’s bibliographic database. It is a compilation of all the natural resource studies that have occurred within the parks’ boundaries and all historical scientific material currently stored in the parks, including rare event records, maps, photographs, manuscripts, and specimen collections. In addition, citations from individually maintained databases like NPSpecies (the NPS biodiversity database) and the Water Resource bibliography are imported.
Status
A systematic data mining process led to entries into NatureBib for all Pacific Island Network parks. Data are continually entered as new bibliographic resources are being used in the PACN inventory and monitoring activities. A public access interface of NatureBib is in development. Currently NatureBib is only available to National Park Service staff.
Acknowledgements
Data in NatureBib for the Pacific islands national parks are entered by NPS staff from many different programs and divisions at the individual parks, as well as by Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit cooperators.
