About SEAN

The Southeast Alaska Inventory and Monitoring Network is one of 32 networks across the United States that further the National Park Service’s strategy to improve park management through greater reliance on scientific information. The SE Alaska Network supports three national park units located in northern Southeast Alaska:

  • Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve (GLBA)
  • Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park (KLGO)
  • Sitka National Historical Park (SITK)

The purpose of the Inventory and Monitoring Program is to design and implement long-term ecological monitoring and provide results to park managers, science partners, and the public. Our intent is to provide periodic assessments of critical resources to evaluate the integrity of park ecosystems and better understand ecosystem processes.

SEAN's offices are located at Indian Point in Juneau, Alaska.
