How to Volunteer

The Sonoran Desert Network benefits from the dedication of many volunteers who contribute their time both in the field and in the office. Among other tasks, SODN volunteers maintain weather stations, measure vegetation plots, and enter handwritten field data into network databases. Many SODN parks also have their own volunteer programs. Contact the SODN network program manager if you are interested in volunteering!

 

 

 

Volunteer Forms

Form	Purpose
SODN volunteering form	To begin the process, complete this mandatory form and deliver it to the SODN volunteer coordinator. The volunteer coordinator must sign it before you do any volunteer work. For the “Brief Description” space, either append the job description provided to you by your supervisor or ask your supervisor what to write.
NPS photo release form	All volunteers are encouraged to submit a completed photo release form.
Certification for Motor Vehicle Operators Driver's License Self-Certification	If you may be requested to drive a government vehicle, you must (1) read the Certification for Motor Vehicle Operators (highlighted sections are specific to volunteers), (2) complete the Driver's License Self-Certification, and (3) submit the completed self-certification form, with a photocopy of your driver’s license, to the SODN volunteer coordinator before you drive a government vehicle.
Volunteer Contribution Tracking Sheet	If you are working independently, you may use this form to track your hours. When you finish a project, submit this form to your supervisor or the SODN volunteer coordinator.
